About Us

Almasi Green Energy

AGEL was founded in 2024 and has been rapidly growing by filling a market gap for a customer focussed, technically deep and commercially savvy solar company. AGEL also provides financed solutions such as “pay for power” financing which offers 3 to 5 year electricity supply agreements that generally self-fund solar investment for clients through reduction in electricity and diesel costs. After the “pay for power” period, the client owns the solar.

Our team consists of 15 technical and commercial staff and supplemented by a 50 person team from our technical partnership with the South African solar company Genergy. Many of our engineers have international experience but are also very familiar with the challenges and issues of East Africa including power outages and voltage fluctuations which place special requirements on solar PV system designs.

All of our installations include documentation, commission performance reports and handover training. We also offer Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Services. Our current pipeline includes over 10 MW of solar power electrification within the Tanzania, Zanzibar and Kenya commercial and industrial sectors.

Why the Almasi

Relentless focus on customer needs and satisfaction

At AGEL, we understand that our existence is dependent on our customer. We work hard to make sure we listen to our customers, communicate technical issues in understandable way, develop commercial proposals with 3 to 5 year paybacks and maintain relationships over the lifetime of the system.

Data Driven and Fact Based

Data Driven and Fact Based One of our core competencies is energy diagnostics and analysis. We carry out detailed and rigorous energy audits, power logging, and solar PV system modelling using state of the art tools and techniques. Our emphasis lies in employing data-driven approaches to support solar electrification from business case development, system design, and procurement through operations and maintenance services. Increasingly, operations and maintenance includes a vast amount of data that can be used to predict performance and troubleshoot faults. Our monitoring platform includes A.I. tools used for diagnostic, notification and troubleshooting.

An international approach, with a tailored for local conditions

Our joint team, led by East and South African experts, places a strong emphasis on harnessing and leveraging the invaluable wealth of local and international expertise and knowledge. We adopt approaches that recognize international standards of solar energy design, installation and management but tailor them for local conditions such as power outages and voltage fluctuations. Our aim is to provide the best solar solutions for cost effective, quality and reliable electricity.
